At ArtMarket.pk, trust is at the heart of what we are building. That includes how we handle personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you when you use ArtMarket.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, city, profile photograph, username, and account credentials.

Artists may additionally provide: display name and legal name, biography and artist statement, location, government-issued identification documents, portfolio information, social media and website links, and professional and artistic information.

1.2 Artwork and Profile Information

Artists may upload Artwork, photographs, descriptions, prices, dimensions, medium, artwork history, biographies, and other portfolio information. Information intended for public display may appear on Artist profiles, Artwork pages, search results, promotional materials, or other areas of the Platform.

1.3 Transaction Information

We may collect information required to process and manage transactions, including delivery information, order details, transaction history, payout information, refund information, and dispute information.

1.4 Communication Data

Messages sent through ArtMarket's chat and communication features may be stored to facilitate transactions, provide support, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and maintain Platform safety.

1.5 Usage and Technical Data

We may collect information about how you interact with the Platform, including IP address, device information, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, Artwork viewed, searches, interactions, referring pages, approximate location, and dates and times of activity.

3. Artist Verification Information

ArtMarket may request government-issued identification and other information as part of Artist verification. Verification information may be used to confirm identity, reduce fraud, protect Buyers and Artists, investigate suspicious activity, and maintain the integrity of the marketplace.

Government identification documents are not intended for public display on Artist profiles. Access to verification information is restricted to authorized personnel and service providers who reasonably require access for verification, security, compliance, support, or related operational purposes.

4. Information We Share

We do not sell your personal information as a standalone product or database.

4.1 Buyers and Artists

When a transaction occurs, we may share information reasonably necessary to complete the transaction and delivery, including relevant name, delivery, and contact information.

4.2 Payment Providers

We may share or allow payment providers to collect information necessary to process payments, refunds, payouts, and related financial transactions.

4.3 Delivery Providers

We may provide relevant delivery information to couriers and logistics providers so that orders can be delivered and tracked.

4.4 Service Providers

We may use third-party providers for hosting, cloud storage, email, messaging, analytics, payments, customer support, advertising, security, fraud prevention, and other operational services.

4.5 Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements.

4.6 Business Transfers

If ArtMarket is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable requirements.

5. Public Information

ArtMarket is a discovery and commerce platform. Some information is intentionally public so Buyers can discover Artists and Artwork. Public information may include Artist names, display photographs, biographies, Artwork images, titles, descriptions, prices, reviews, ratings, and public portfolio or social links. Users should not place sensitive personal information in fields intended for public display.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Passwords are protected using appropriate password-security methods. Access to sensitive verification information is restricted. No online service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain accounts, complete transactions, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal and accounting obligations, and enforce our agreements. Where information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.

We may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, support security, improve performance, understand Platform usage, and measure marketing effectiveness. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser.

9. Marketing Communications

We may send essential communications relating to accounts, orders, payments, delivery, security, and customer support. Promotional communications will be sent where permitted. You may opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe mechanism provided or by contacting support@artmarket.pk.

10. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may contact us to request: access to personal information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your account or certain information, a copy of certain information associated with your account, withdrawal from promotional communications, or information about how your information is being used.

11. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion by contacting us or using any deletion functionality made available through the Platform. We may need to verify the identity of the person making the request. Deletion may not immediately remove information that must be retained for pending transactions, legal obligations, financial records, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or protection of our rights.

12. Third-Party Websites

ArtMarket may link to third-party websites, including Artist websites, social media profiles, payment services, and delivery providers. Those services operate independently and may have their own privacy policies and terms. ArtMarket is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services we do not control.

13. Children's Privacy

ArtMarket is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly invite or intentionally collect personal information from individuals under 18 through marketplace participation or account registration.

14. International Processing

Some hosting, payment, analytics, communications, advertising, or technology providers may process information outside Pakistan. Where information is processed outside Pakistan, we seek to use appropriate providers and safeguards consistent with applicable requirements.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, business practices, or legal requirements change. Material changes may be communicated through the Platform, email, or another reasonable method.
